Dear Ms Hanson-Young

Refugee resettlement deal between the Australian Government and the Kingdom of Cambodia

I am writing in response to your letter of 30 March 2016 requesting that I consider undertaking an audit of the refugee resettlement deal between the Australian Government and the Kingdom of Cambodia.

My office is currently progressing work on the future audit work program, which is due to be finalised in mid-2016. The program is designed to inform the Parliament, the public and government entities of planned audit coverage to commence in 2017–18. A potential performance audit of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s management of Australian aid to Cambodia is being considered as part of that program. The information you have provided will be considered during this process.

Yours sincerely

Grant Hehir
Auditor-General
