The Performance Statements Audit Service Group (PSASG) provides the Parliament and the public with assurance on the quality, usefulness and reliability of performance information reported in entities’ annual performance statements which are published in their annual reports.

Lead interesting, complex pieces of work – you will be responsible for managing audit projects, analysing and reporting complex audit issues, and leading and developing team members. You will also be responsible for providing a high-quality auditing experience to our clients and developing professional relationships with clients, client Audit Committees and other senior stakeholders.

An important part of the role will include training and development, as it applies to conducting performance statements audits. Applicants with proven skills in this area will be considered for dual roles within the Group.

Roles and responsibilities

APS5 Auditor

Under broad supervision, positions at this level will:

  • either individually or as part of a team, undertake performance statements audits varying in complexity;
  • provide high level assistance in the conduct of audits;
  • provide professional or technical support;
  • assist in drafting audit strategies/reports/plans;
  • develop and maintain effective client relationships;
  • conduct analytical problem solving and evaluate government programs and administration; and
  • make a positive contribution to the development of the Performance Statements Audit Services Group.

APS6 Senior Auditor

Under broad guidance, positions at this level will:

  • contribute the delivery of complex performance statements audit tasks and audit products;
  • supervise, mentor and support the professional development of more junior staff;
  • exercise sound judgment to assess the value of audit evidence and form audit opinions and recommendations;
  • provide high level professional and technical advice;
  • manage client relationships; and
  • make a positive contribution to the development of the Performance Statements Audit Services Group.
     

Director (Executive Level 1)

Under broad guidance, positions at this level will:

  • manage and deliver complex performance statements audit tasks and audit products;
  • supervise, mentor and support the professional development of more junior staff;
  • exercise sound judgment to assess the value of audit evidence and form audit opinions and recommendations;
  • provide high level professional and technical advice;
  • conduct analytical problem solving and evaluate government programs and administration;
  • manage client relationships; and
  • make a positive contribution to the development of the Performance Statements Audit Services Group.
