WestConnex Project
Thank you for your letter of 10 August 2015 requesting an audit of the WestConnex Project.
A potential audit of the approval and administration of the $3.5 billion Australian Government funding towards construction of this project is included in the Australian National Audit Office’s Audit Work Program July 2015. The work program includes more than 150 potential performance audit topics across the range of Australian Government portfolios, but with our available resources we typically conduct around 50 performance audits each year.
A decision on whether to conduct an audit of the WestConnex Project will be made later in the financial year once we have completed our current audit of the East West Link Project. This decision will also have regard to other performance audit priorities and the extent of performance audit coverage in the Infrastructure and Regional Development portfolio.
