About us

The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) is a specialist public sector practice providing a range of audit and assurance services to the Parliament and Commonwealth entities.

About Us

The objective of the audit is to examine the effectiveness of the Department of Defence’s (Defence) administration of contractual obligations to maximise Australian industry participation.

Audit criteria

The ANAO proposes to examine:

  • Have fit-for-purpose administrative arrangements been established to maximise Australian industry participation in Defence procurement and contracting?
  • Have applicable contracting requirements been implemented to maximise Australian industry participation?
  • Has Defence implemented appropriate governance, assurance and reporting arrangements to support the objective of maximising Australian industry participation?
